NASAA is thrilled to welcome members back to an in-person Assembly! Since COVID-19 is still present, let’s all do our part to support the well-being of Assembly attendees and the host community.

NASAA recognizes that the pandemic affects each individual differently. We all have unique needs, and those needs may change over time, as the virus—and government health guidance–continue to evolve. To equip every Assembly participant to navigate this situation in the way that’s best for you, NASAA has created this web page to serve as a hub of information about our COVID-19 conference protocols. Please review this information carefully and check back often for updates.

Our Conference Hotel

Our conference hotel adheres to industry best practices through its Commitment to Clean plan. Learn more details about the Kansas City Marriott Downtown’s COVID-19 protocols, which include food safety, electrostatic sanitizing and contactless transactions.

Supporting Your Conference Experience

NASAA encourages everyone to be diligent about their personal health both inside the hotel and in the city at large. To support your own efforts, NASAA will:

  • provide masks for those who would like to use them,
  • supply hand sanitizer,
  • offer optional community buttons that make it easy for you to communicate your physical distancing preferences and contact comfort level to your fellow attendees, and
  • provide rapid tests on site for you to self-administer should you feel unwell or become concerned about a possible exposure to COVID-19.

NASAA wants everyone to come to Kansas City and fully enjoy the Assembly. But if you feel ill prior to the meeting, we ask you to err on the side of caution and stay home. NASAA will not charge any cancellation fees if your Assembly plans need to change at the last minute.

Following Government Guidelines

During the conference, NASAA will be following all local requirements and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended precautions, and we ask our Assembly participants to do likewise. You can learn about those guidelines here:

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Protect Yourself and Others

Kansas City, Missouri: COVID-19 Information Center

As of May 16, 2022, there are no restrictions on indoor gatherings, masking requirements or vaccination requirements in place for Kansas City, Missouri.

Kansas City currently falls into the CDC’s Medium Risk level based on the number of people with new infections and the fact that hospitalizations have fallen in this area. Check weekly risk levels at At this level, it is recommended that people who have weakened immune systems (or live with people who do) wear a high-quality mask while in public indoor spaces.

Although NASAA certainly encourages masks, vaccinations and testing as measures to curtail the community spread of COVID-19, we are not requiring those measures for Assembly attendees at this time. However, that could change, depending on conditions at the time of the Assembly. If needed, NASAA may require measures such as masking, physical distancing, vaccination verification or testing protocols.

If our Assembly protocols change, we’ll update this site and will also proactively notify conference registrants. Please continue to check back here for updates. Thank you for doing your part to keep the NASAA community safe!
